The actor’s partner, Bethany Henderson, said that Camden Toy – who portrayed some of the most iconic monsters in the 90s series BUFFY – had been battling pancreatic cancer for the past two years.

His death was mourned by friends on Facebook, who created a page Remembering Camden Toy.

“For many reasons, we were very hopeful for at least a longer and more fruitful time on planet Earth,” wrote Henderson on December 8.

“Even the most recent challenges seemed more like an ongoing hiccup. Unfortunately, it seems we have reached the end of the road with medical treatment.

“His condition declined greatly in the last 2 months and tremendously in the last few days.”

Henderson said that the actor chose not to publicly reveal his cancer diagnosis “for many reasons.”

Toy grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and moved to New York, where he was one of the founding members of the Nada Theatre.

He moved to Los Angeles, where he became a fan favorite in Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, and portrayed some of the series’ most iconic monsters.
