The YouTuber Destin Sandlin films mysterious objects flying during an eclipse and leaves astronomers shocked with the images.
Destin Sandlin, YouTuber and aerospace engineer, was recording footage of the latest total eclipse when he noticed he had captured a mysterious object with his camera.
In a video for the SmarterEveryDay channel, Destin recounted his experience recording the mysterious objects. “When I started looking at these recordings, I wanted to see C2 and C3, Bailey’s beads, around the edges of the moon’s mountains, […] I realized there was something flying through the sky, right over C3”, he commented.
Later, Destin remarked that it could “be an insect”, a plane, or a satellite. The aerospace engineer’s theory is that they were satellites traversing space while following Earth’s orbit.
Destin showed the images to astronomer John McDowell, who said they could be insects flying through the footage.
The YouTuber reached out to other individuals who had filmed the event, and they also reported mysterious objects in their footage.
