Comerford began running at just six years old for the Raheny Shamrocks club. At just 18 years old, Comerford made her Paralympic debut in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, where she reached the final of the 100m T13, finishing in eighth place.

In 2018, she won a bronze medal at the European Championships in the 100m and 200m, and later represented Ireland at the Tokyo Paralympic Games in 2020.
