A TikTok profile shared a video that went viral in which a microwave plays songs like Jason Derulo’s “Talk Dirty.”
“Help! Every time we turn on the kitchen breaker, we hear someone very clearly through our microwave”, wrote the distressed woman in the video. She thought a “millennial ghost” was hacking the household appliance.
“It seems like your microwave is possessed by a really friendly and goofy ghost”, said one profile in the comments. Some suggested it might be “radio frequencies”.
In another video, the woman explained that the previous tenant of the rental house had left recorded messages in the microwave. “I didn’t even know microwaves could do this. We never had one like this when I was growing up”, she explained.
She also believes it could be a wiring issue with the house, as it is an “old property”. “I don’t know anything about microwaves or radio waves or hard drives”, she said.
