Besides her Hollywood career, Swanson is a mother to a son, Magnus, from her relationship with skating partner Lloyd Eisler, with whom she competed on the show “Skating with Celebrities”. Recently, she shared on her Instagram a special visit to the set of the movie “Flowers in the Attic”, filmed in 1986 when she was just 16 years old. The visit to the location in Massachusetts was an opportunity for Swanson to show her 16-year-old son, Magnus, where she filmed one of her most memorable works.

In the post, she expressed her gratitude to @craneestate_trustees for allowing her to revisit the gardens of Foxworth Hall, 38 years after the film was shot, describing the experience as very special.
