This has manifested in the form of sexist comments and misogynistic messages online, which she has been addressing through popular videos called “DM Hotline.” In these videos, she uses humor to highlight the inappropriate messages she receives from both fans and trolls.

In an interview with OK!, Emma shared, “I used to occasionally capture some of the explicit messages I received and put them in an Instagram story, and the reaction showed that there was room to discuss this. I knew people needed to be aware because the responses were most often ‘I didn’t realize this was happening.'”

By using humor to expose the disturbing direct messages, Emma hopes to initiate conversations and find solutions to the widespread problem. She stated, “I’m taking back control, and it also raises awareness of what I believe is a very real issue that many people face daily online.”

Emma’s approach has received many positive responses, and she not only hopes to empower other women to stand up for themselves but also aims to show that they are not alone in facing such experiences.
