“So, my daughter sits on Santa’s lap and says, ‘Hey Santa, can you please bring us food? We don’t have any at home,'” explained mother Casie Terry Reber in the video.
Dying of embarrassment, Casie then thanked the nearby people who offered food to her daughter.
Eventually, her real request became clear.
She later asked her daughter why she asked Santa for food, saying, “I know we ordered food for delivery last night, but that was because Mom didn’t want to cook, not because we don’t have food, honey.”
But the daughter insisted they still had no food at home.
After some back and forth, she revealed that her daughter wanted food for the toy kitchen.
“She wanted to play with food in the toy kitchen,” said the relieved mother.
At the end of the video, Casie asked everyone to wish her luck.
