Argentine artist Leandro Erlich has created an illusionary pool that appears to be full of water. Installed as a permanent exhibit at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa, Japan, the water in the pool sits above a glass surface and is only 10 cm deep.

Beneath the thick glass is a room where spectators can enter, inviting a shared experience of admiration for the illusionary pool, both from within it and from above.
In his work, Erlich, based in Buenos Aires, plays with perception and assumption in an exploration of “the ways we understand phenomena, relate to spaces, and comprehend reality”. Just look at the images!
