But in one of his latest posts, Macallan moved his followers by showing in a video the support he received from Theo, his best friend since childhood, who has been through all the ups and downs with him for over 20 years.

The clip with the caption “What It’s Like to Change Gender and Keep Your Best Friend” shows photos of the duo from when they first met in seventh grade to Theo’s wedding, celebrated by none other than Macallan himself.

In Newsweek, Macallan shared that he wasn’t nervous about revealing his transition to Theo because his friend had always supported him, and he knew it wouldn’t be different regarding his gender change.

“From pointing out how the ashes of the bonfire danced in the trees, or simply naming the bird soaring over a sunny lake, he taught me love. He taught me that vulnerability can be proudly held, that beauty can be contained within a body without shame.”

Macallan’s post moved internet users, who in the comments praised the duo’s friendship; “This is love and friendship. You are very lucky,” wrote one. “Wow! This is beautiful! I’ve never liked anyone for 20 years, except my grandma,” joked another.
