Student Kayanne Fonseca was hiking at JK Waterfall in Goiás, Brazil, when she came across a snake sunbathing on the rocks. The student’s reaction quickly went viral on social media.
The video was recorded on September 28 and showed the snake basking on the rocks and then swimming through the waterfall. Kayanne approached to take a picture with the animal.
“I was more impressed than scared. When I saw it, I thought it was very beautiful. It was a situation that conveyed safety. It was just passing through; it didn’t even look back and didn’t seem threatening. I just admired its beauty,” the student recounted.
The snake was a boa constrictor, a non-venomous species. Kayanne shared that she was afraid of snakes and thought that if she encountered one, she would “faint.”
“There was a young man with us who gave a lot of reassurance; he said the animal was non-venomous and that we were not at risk. This was important so that we didn’t get scared, but rather admired its beauty,” she told the G1 portal.
