She shared an uncomfortable experience: “One day, I was looking at my phone, and an older man came up to me and said, ‘Stop trying to message me, I didn’t bring my phone.’ I didn’t know what he was talking about; it was very strange.”
Monica added that although she feels flattered to be considered attractive, she often just wants to work out alone. “I would be happy to pay $3,000 (about £2,200) a month for someone who does a good job and can scare people away.”

On another occasion, a man tried to grab her while she was running up the stairs at the train station. “He tried to pull me into an alley. Luckily, people came, and he fled, but it was so scary. I shudder to think what could have happened if he hadn’t been interrupted,” Monica recalled.
