Although her lawyer, James Lang, argued that there was no evidence that she knew she was laundering money or transporting drugs when she followed instructions to collect bags and boxes with the substances.

Meanwhile, prosecutor Jade Pearson stated that the investigation was ongoing due to various situations, the main one being the statement of an undercover agent who was informed by the court that he received 2.2 pounds of cocaine directly from Marjorie Griffiths on March 7. However, Lang suggested that she be held in custody due to the complexity of the case.

Thus, Judge Lonergan granted Griffith the possibility of bail with various strict conditions, including electronic monitoring, drug and alcohol abstinence, and a strict curfew. Additionally, she is prohibited from accessing the internet and must have only one phone available.
