James Mitchell Kerr was arrested after being accused of violating his probation in mid-September. However, after using a lawnmower to try to escape the police, he made a big mistake.

The 41-year-old man was arrested at his home in Leoni Township, Michigan, on September 19. But a video from Officer Robert Henderson’s body camera shows when Kerr climbed onto a lawnmower to try to escape.
Henderson pursued him on foot while trying to get him out of the vehicle, which Kerr refused to do. He stopped after the officer pointed his taser at Kerr, but Kerr returned to the lawnmower, grabbed a gun, and pointed it toward the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office officer.
The officer then deployed his taser, causing Kerr to accidentally shoot himself in the hand, according to a report from The Mirror US. Emergency services rushed to the scene, and Kerr was quickly taken to a local hospital for treatment.
After being discharged, he remained in custody. Kerr was charged with assault with intent to commit murder, felony firearm use, and resisting and obstructing. “Fortunately, the deputy was unhurt, and the suspect did not suffer any serious injuries,” said Sheriff Gary Schuette.
