Lizzo announced on her social media that she is taking a “sabbatical year” after posting a video of herself in the rain in Bali, Indonesia. The announcement comes after the singer faced harassment lawsuits from three former backup dancers.

In a reel posted on Sunday (25), Lizzo wrote that she is “taking a sabbatical year and protecting my peace.” The singer was wearing a black swimsuit and appeared to have lost a significant amount of weight.

The sabbatical announcement comes after Lizzo was sued for harassment by three of her former dancers in August 2023.

Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez claimed that Lizzo created a toxic work environment. According to the lawsuit, the singer invited cast members to touch performers without clothing in February 2023.

Later, Lizzo was sued by six other employees with similar allegations, as well as verbal and physical abuse.

In October 2023, Lizzo’s lawyers received signed statements from 18 team members contesting the accusations against the singer.
