In an Instagram post, the 51-year-old actress displayed injuries on her hands, arms, and knees, and shared a photo of herself wearing a back brace.
Many followers expressed concern and asked about her health status. “Wow, you are covered in bruises. I hope nothing is broken,” one person said. “My God, those bruises…” another commented. “You must be in a lot of pain; I hope you’re feeling better,” said a third.
The actress has been facing health challenges in recent months, including a prolonged hospitalization due to stress and grief. Beckinsale revealed that she lost a lot of weight following the unexpected death of her stepfather and while coping with her mother’s advanced-stage cancer. This trauma resulted in a severe esophagus problem, leading her to vomit blood and struggle to eat.
On social media, she also commented that while working on a film involving the loss of a father, she had to deal with painful emotions, making the project more challenging. Despite criticisms of her appearance, Beckinsale stood firm in stating that she does not care about others’ opinions regarding her looks.
“I had a lot of difficulty eating, and I worked very, very hard on a film that was quite difficult because it also involved the theme of my father’s death, so I really am not worried about what you think about my [body]. Maybe you should worry about your own [body]”
In “Canary Black,” a CIA agent, Avery Graves, played by Kate Beckinsale, is blackmailed by terrorists to betray her country in order to save her kidnapped husband. Unable to rely on her team, she turns to her contacts to help locate the data demanded by the kidnappers. The film is already available on Prime Video.
