Wharton talked about the incident on “The Pat McAfee Show.” He said that he heard his name from the stands and went over to throw his gloves to the fans, as he usually does.

“There were two security guards there, but I don’t think they realized what was happening. So I had to push him back into the stands to make sure he didn’t get hurt too badly,” Wharton shared.

“I’d love to talk to him, take him to a game,” added the Chiefs’ defensive tackle.
