With the impact of the series Bebe Rena shown on Netflix, influencer Sabrina Low decided to open up and share a story she also experienced with a stalker.

The 22-year-old said that with each episode, she was reminded of a difficult time she had faced years ago. “Many scenes triggered me because they reminded me of what had happened to me, and those are things we’d rather forget,” she declares.

Sabrina explains that at 18, she led a peaceful life, studying, playing sports, and using social media like any other young person of her generation. However, at a certain point, she noticed a “follow request” on social media: “At that time, my Instagram was private. I didn’t know her, but I accepted. If it had been public, she would have been able to see everything just the same,” she explained.

The influencer recounts that over time, the woman began to initiate some conversations via messages. “She liked all my posts, commented on most of them, and started chatting. She talked about random topics, even asked what I ate for breakfast, and said she liked women. I found the conversation strange, I even mentioned that I was heterosexual. Sometimes I wouldn’t even respond, but to this day I don’t understand why I didn’t block her right away,” Sabrina shares.

Since Low has always been active in sports and posted about it on social media, the stalker also had access to where she was going. It was at this point that Sabrina began to feel very afraid of what might happen: “She enrolled in every class I was taking and they were in different places, it was bizarre. We had no intimacy for that,” says the influencer.

According to Sabrina, after a few days, the woman also started following her to bars, shopping centers, cinemas, and even to the beauty salon. “I don’t know how she could know the exact times, I was terrified and between us, there was no dialogue,” she declares. The influencer told her family and friends what was happening, and they began to accompany her wherever she went:

“I didn’t set foot outside the house without someone by my side. At that time, we didn’t think of making a police report, but I think I should have. She started distancing herself after seeing that I wasn’t walking alone anymore. I blocked all the profiles, every time, and even distanced myself from the internet. It was almost anonymity. I panic just remembering, but thankfully it’s over.”
