Wactor, 37, was fatally shot as he and a colleague encountered three suspects allegedly trying to steal a catalytic converter from his car, TMZ reported, citing Wactor’s mother and the police.

The grieving mother, Scarlett Wactor, reported that she was informed by authorities that although her son did not react when he confronted the suspects, the men still shot him before fleeing, as reported by the outlet.

Wactor was declared dead at the hospital after 3 AM, according to KTLA.

As of Sunday afternoon, no suspects had been arrested.
