“Two days ago, on June 8, my husband, Ben Potter, passed away in an unfortunate accident. To many of you, he was Comicstorian, giving voice to stories from various mediums. To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive people one could ask for,” wrote Nathalie Potter, Ben’s wife, on her X (Twitter) account last Monday (10).
“As a husband, son, brother, friend, or even just a stranger, Ben was loving and genuine. He was someone who listened and made time for his loved ones. His channel was one of his greatest achievements and, though we all need our time to mourn for him, I know he wouldn’t want it to end like this.”
Nathalie shared that she intends to keep his channel running to “honor him, continuing to tell great stories of great people, as well as to keep alive the memory of our own superhero”. “We supported each other in everything we wanted to do and I won’t stop now,” she added.
Ben launched his YouTube channel in 2014 and amassed a large following over the years. Currently, his account on the platform has over 3 million subscribers. His insights on comics and gaming made him a beloved figure online, with many of his fans expressing sadness at the news of his passing.
