Paul Mason, who was once considered the world’s fattest man, now uses his experience to warn others about the dangers of extreme obesity.

“I may never walk again, but I’m at peace with that. I just want to use my time to help others and ensure they don’t make the same mistakes I did.”

At 64 years old, Paul has surpassed medical predictions that he wouldn’t live past 40, but he currently remains bedridden and weighs 229 kilograms.

Despite his impressive weight loss due to gastric bypass surgery, health issues and personal difficulties have led him to regain weight.

Mason shared that in 2021, during the pandemic, he experienced a severe health issue that left him hospitalized for 18 months, hindering his weight loss progress. He described how firefighters carried him out of his home, an event filmed by passersby, and how his kidneys stopped functioning properly until he received the correct medication, resulting in a 38-kilogram loss in a few days.

Now, Paul wants to use his voice for good, encouraging young people not to be afraid to ask for help and to take care of their body’s future.

“I would say to any young person reading this, don’t be afraid to ask for help. I would also say to think about your body’s future. The way you shape your body means you’ll never get it back. No amount of surgeries or anything else can give you back what you had when you put so many calories into your body – that’s what you need to think about.”
