In an interview with “Good Morning America” on Tuesday (30), actress Elizabeth Banks revealed that she nearly died from choking during the filming of her new movie “Skincare.”

“I literally couldn’t breathe,” Banks said about her “terrifying” experience. The actress recounted that she was having lunch alone in her trailer when she choked on a pea.

She lost the ability to speak and said she was “very scared.” Fortunately, a crew member was nearby, noticed she was choking, and performed the Heimlich maneuver, a technique to expel what is blocking the airways by applying pressure to the abdomen.

Elizabeth Banks took the opportunity to thank her rescuer, named Julius. “He’s my guardian angel. Julius, I love you.” She also encouraged others to learn the Heimlich maneuver. “Talk to your friends and family about it,” she advised.
