BMG, which signed a contract with Roger Waters in 2016 to release a re-recorded version of the album Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd, has now canceled the agreement. The decision follows recent statements made by Waters. In 2023, during a UN Security Council meeting, he reportedly described the Russian invasion of Ukraine as “provoked”. The musician also criticized the United States and other partners for supplying weapons to Ukraine.

After an attack on Israel, Waters publicly supported the actions of Hamas, which is widely recognized as a terrorist organization. This support led to BMG’s decision to terminate its cooperation with Waters, as reported by Variety.
