Australian dentist Sam Koh shared with 7news some of the most unusual and horrifying cases he has encountered in his practice. He mentioned three cases that shocked him the most during the interview.
Koh said he once treated a man who had plaster and dental glue in his mouth. He explained that the man had infections and pus buildup that he burst himself and “never sought treatment”.
The second case involves a man who had glued his teeth together to treat a gum disease. “His teeth were all loose and could move”, Koh said, explaining that the glue was meant to keep the teeth in the mouth.
The third and most shocking case for the dentist was a 22-year-old man who had all of his teeth infected. Koh saw no other option but to extract all of them. The dentist said that after the treatment, the young man was able to “change his life”.
Koh recommends brushing teeth at least twice a day and using dental floss to maintain good oral health. He also mentioned that toothbrushes should be replaced every three months.
