Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh star together in the new A24 film “We Live in Time.” The actor revealed that the two filmed a steamy scene that was “so intense” they didn’t hear the director’s “cut.”
In an interview on Josh Horowitz’s podcast “Happy Sad Confused,” actor Andrew Garfield revealed details about the steamy scene he filmed with Florence Pugh for the new A24 movie “We Live in Time.”
Garfield said they didn’t hear the director’s “cut” while filming the scene, as it was very intense.
“And we got into the scene, so to speak, and went a little beyond what we should, just because we never heard ‘cut,’ and the feeling is safe, and we’re like, ‘Okay, let’s go to the next thing and the next thing, let’s let this flow and keep going,'” he shared.
The two were on a closed set with only the camera operator, the director of photography, and a boom operator present.
At one point, Garfield saw the director of photography simply turned toward the wall.
“We Live in Time” is a romantic comedy that follows the story of the couple Tobias and Almut throughout the years of their life together. The film is set to premiere in the U.S. on October 11 and in the UK on January 1.
