The 27-year-old man from Bradford was charged with stalking and harassment over clips that showed several women in short clothing walking around the city at night. The clips were mostly filmed in Manchester and Liverpool before being shared on social media.
An investigation by Manchester Evening News found that internet users were sharing the daring content behind their accounts on Patreon, a subscription platform for content creators. The account was removed, with the platform stating they have “zero tolerance for works featuring non-consensual intimate images.”
On the morning of Wednesday (27), Greater Manchester Police executed a search warrant in Bradford, resulting in the arrest of the content creator, whose identity has not been revealed.
“This morning, we arrested a 27-year-old man in Bradford on suspicion of stalking and harassment, in connection with several reports of women being followed, filmed, and harassed in the city center of Manchester,” the police said in a statement.
“After the issue was first brought to our attention, we made several appeals for anyone directly impacted by these videos to come forward. Many women did, explaining the fear this had caused them and the impact it had on their sense of safety while going out at night.”
