Robert Batten, founder of a famous Facebook group about Guinness beer that was recently banned due to the daring photos of its users, stated that he is not bothered by the incident.

The controversial page, originally created to unite fans of the Irish beer brand, recently made headlines after its users began posting extremely daring photos with beer glasses.

However, the group, which had around 360,000 members, was banned after reports that the photos crossed the line of what could be considered appropriate for social media. According to the Daily Star website, the page was “removed due to violations of community standards.”

Batten, the owner of the page, said he was not bothered by the ban, admitting it was their site and their rules, but he relaunched the group under the same name. “I wouldn’t say [I’m] annoyed (about the ban), because it’s their platform and their rules. However, it can be frustrating when we receive violations for old content,” he told the Daily Star.

“It would be great if, once a post is approved, it could stay that way instead of being flagged retroactively. That’s why I started building communities on other platforms, especially for [adult] content, where there’s a bit more freedom.”
