The questioning took place on Thursday (25), according to AFP. Sarkozy is said to have received millions of euros in briefcases sent by Muammar Gaddafi, the former Libyan prime minister, who was killed in 2011.
A Franco-Lebanese businessman, Ziad Takieddine, claimed he delivered the briefcases to the head of Sarkozy’s team. Carla Bruni was questioned to clarify why Takieddine made these claims.
